GIS SOL

The Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique sur les sols (GIS Sol) has been coordinating the acquisition and dissemination of information on French soils since 2001. It brings together the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty (MASA), the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion (MTECT), the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE), the Agency for Ecological Transition (ADEME), the National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), the National Institute of Geographic and Forest Information (IGN), the Office for Biodiversity (OFB) and  the Geological Survey (BRGM).

ADEME

ADEME (French Agency for Ecological Transition) is a public industrial and commercial establishment (EPIC), under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. Created in 1991, ADEME's aim is to promote actions in favor of ecological transition, and its role is to raise awareness of environmental issues among professionals, companies, local authorities and private individuals.

OFB

The French Biodiversity Office (OFB) is a public body dedicated to safeguarding biodiversity. It is in charge of protecting and restoring biodiversity in France and its overseas territories. The OFB is at the heart of efforts to preserve life in aquatic, terrestrial and marine environments. 

MTECT

The Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion implements government policy in all areas relating to ecology and biodiversity protection.

MASA

Responsible for strengthening food independence, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty prepares and implements government policy for agriculture, agrifood industries, forestry and wood, and aquaculture.
